Cessation of Business

The Directors and Management of Headman Construction Limited have reached a decision to cease trading following completion of all our current contracts and obligations.

The lack of new orders and prospects for success in winning profitable work in the foreseeable future has been fundamental in reaching this conclusion. However, it is only after long deliberations and with the intention of formally closing the business in an organised and planned manner so all creditors will receive all monies due to them promptly and without undue delay.

This is surely a better route than continuing to incur losses and drain the company of all resources until eventually bankruptcy or compulsory liquidation leaves many creditors out of pocket.

There are a substantial amount of retentions outstanding and it is our intention to fulfil our obligations during the defects period so that the Final Retentions are collected and our sub-contractors receive their dues.

The Construction Industry, particularly the Commercial and Public Sectors, face a difficult future. With a reducing market there are going to be casualties. Rather than be one of these casualties, we are leaving the market in an organised and planned manner so that everyone will be paid.
